The Ensemble - Merchant of Venice

Amanda Fisher Amanda Fisher (Nerissa) – is a BOB board member and performer, first appearing in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 1992 and most recently appearing in Love’s Labor’s Lost, Romeo & Juliet and Othello. She works as a motorcoach tour planner. Amanda enjoys photography and writing, and recently has contributed book reviews to Johnstown Magazine. She would like to say thank you to cast and crew for another great summer and to BOB’s wonderful, supportive audience!
Patrick Roy Patrick Roy (Solanio) – first appeared in the in 2004 in Romeo & Juliet then stole the show as Sir Nathaniel in Love’s Labours Lost. Patrick is a student at the Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH. He says his experience here with BOB “changed my outlook on Shakespeare.”
John Kurchak John Kurchak (Messenger/Stephano) – is enjoying his onstage debut with BOB. He has for years been a stalwart assistant to soundman John, who happens to be his dad, and has been an audience member since before he was born! John has appeared in productions at Ferndale Area High School for the past two years. “Thanks to my family and my friends!”
Randy Hochstein Randy Hochstein (The Duke) – made his onstage debut in 2007 as Brabantio in Othello and has been a BOB fan and volunteer for many years. He has worked for the Johnstown Housing Authority for 17 years and serves as chief union steward of AFSCME Local 630. Randy is vice president of Somerset County ABATE and secretary and founding member of Keystone Off-Road Bikers, so we know he has a little “Thunder” in his heart!
Antoine Malvoisin Antoine (Tony) Malvoisin (Bassanio) – made his BOB debut in the title role of Othello last year. Tony also appeared in South Pacific at UPJ and Dream Girls in 2006. He hails from Long Island and currently resides in Colver, PA. Tony works as an air traffic controller at the Cambria County Airport and is a member of the Greater Johnstown Community Choir. He would like to say “hi” to his beautiful children, Tony and Alyssa!
Daved Jurcic David V. Jurcic (Gratiano) – makes his third appearance with BOB, following Picasso at the Lapine Agile, and Othello. He first caught the acting bug when he appeared as the MC in Dream Girls in 2006. As a self-employed barbershop and salon owner, he claims, “all my job’s a stage – thank you to the players” that have inspired him to our stage!
Justin Wested Justin Wested (Prince of Morocco) – first appeared with BOB in the role of Cassio in Othello. While a student at Greater Johnstown High School, he appeared in Annie, Anything Goes and Anyone Can Whistle. He started his collegiate career at Point Park University, and currently takes online courses at the University of Advancing Technology. Justin loves his BOB performances and thinks it’s a fantastic way to stay on the stage.
Paula Carroll Paula Carroll (Jessica) - has that thing that most parents dread in their children: An M.F.A. in Theatre. She has worked extensively in her native West Virginia and in Pittsburgh with the likes of City Theater, The Un’Seamed Shakespeare Company, Quantum Theatre, Upstairs Theatre and Open Stage. She has also enjoyed teaching and working with students at Point Park University, West Virginia University and Marietta College. While watching last year’s BOB production of Othello, she felt the kind of magic that led her to theatre in the first place, so she is delighted to be part of this band of dedicated, generous, talented and crazy-wonderful people. Special thanks to Buddy Shea (not his real name), her real-life love interest for the past eighteen years, for joining her in this adventure.
Stacy Gilbert Stacy Gilbert (Desdemona) – you certainly remember as Desdemona in last year’s production of Othello. She’s been a “brother” in our merry band since 1995 when she made her Stackhouse debut as Juliet in Romeo & Juliet. You also may have seen Stacy in Picasso at the Lapine Agile and Two Gents. She serves on the BOB board of directors. Stacy dedicates her performance to her nephews, Alex and Isaac, and to her niece or nephew on the way!
Paul Mastovich Paul Mastovich (Antonio) – was here at the beginning in the title role of MacBeth in 1991. This is his eighth show in Stackhouse; some of his other appearances include Much Ado, Hamlet and Two Gents. Paul works as an instructor at Cambria Rowe Business College. He’d like to say thanks to his wife, Sue, and his kids, Nick and Noah.
Doug Meagher Doug Meagher (Shylock) – Like the occasional black bear, Doug can be found on any given day wandering through the woods of Stackhouse Park. Every so often, he stops to act. Doug appeared in Loves’ Labours Lost and Two Gents, among others. He also wrote and appeared in Our Town, a hilarious history of the Johnstown area. Doug has worked with Cresson Lake Playhouse and UPJ Theater. He says the role of Shylock is some of the toughest acting of his career since he’s playing a man who is cautious with his money.
Courtney Minemyer Courtney Minemyer (Lancelot) – has performed here in such shows as Two Gents and Picasso at the Lapine Agile, and is a no-nonsense stage manager too! She also has performed at Cresson Lake, Mt. Aloysius and St. Francis and with Nail Soup Theater. Courtney would like to say thanks to her support system of family, friends, and the love of her life.
Buddy Shea Buddy Shea (Lorenzo) – says it’s been so long since he’s been onstage, he can’t remember all the plays he’s been in. Buddy vaguely recalls studying acting and playwriting at Carnegie Mellon University and doing some stuff by guys like Strindberg, Genet, and even Neil Simon. After getting off the American stage, Buddy began working in film and television in all areas except in front of the camera. He’s had short films play in festivals from Sarasota to Sonoma, and currently works at the excellent Johnstown production house Wix Pix. His greatest accomplishment has been to trick fellow actor Paula Carroll into marrying him.
David Ringler

David Ringler (Arragon) – was born and raised in Johnstown and is a graduate of Susquehanna University.  He is the former lead singer of the rock band and Universal recording artists Isle of Q, and he continues to write and record original songs on his own.  He is known to many simply as “Ringler” and makes his debut in a Shakespearean play.  Ringler works at Hometown Bar & Grill and would like to thank Laura and Brad Gordon for his involvement in this year’s show.  He says “God Bless to my dearest father, mother, sisters and their families.  And all my best to Emily, our beautiful daughter Maddy, and her brothers Gabriel and Lorin.”
